This is the first Rookie of the Year tournament since 2019, when Saya Kamitani won . The first match of the first round is between Yumizuki, who debuted last November , and Ranna Yagami, who is making her third professional fight. Considering the difference in the number of matches fought and the fact that Yumizuki achieved her first victory at the previous Ryogoku event on December 29th , there is no doubt that Yumizuki has the advantage. However, we can also hope for an upset from Yagami, who made her debut on the mat against Shuri. Who will emerge victorious and advance to the finals?
The match began with both wrestlers exchanging a clean handshake. Yagami intimidated Yumizuki with a kick and lured him to the ground. They grappled for the neck and back, and Yumizuki applied a headlock. Yumizuki escaped Yagami's head scissors and they locked up again. After an exchange of elbows, Yagami delivered a corner elbow attack and a soccer ball kick, and when Yumizuki countered, Yagami went for an armbar. Yumizuki escaped and Yagami announced a hurricanrana before attempting a body slam. Yagami countered, and they exchanged elbows. Yumizuki landed a body slam, but Yagami retaliated. Yumizuki landed another body slam, but it was only a two count. Yagami knocked Yumizuki down with a series of middle kicks, followed by a corner middle kick. Yumizuki went for a roll-up, but Yagami went for an armbar. Yumizuki escaped and countered with a dropkick. Yumizuki grabbed Yagami's arm and delivered a triangle jump face crusher. HANAKO, who debuted last March, will face Sayaka Kurei in the first round of the tournament, in only her third professional fight. Not only is there a difference in the number of matches fought, but HANAKO is also the overwhelming favorite to win, given her physique and experience. This first round will likely be a tough challenge for Kurei. Will HANAKO, who is expected to win, advance to the final as planned, or will Kurei pull off a big surprise?
Both wrestlers exchanged a clean handshake, and as soon as the bell rang, Kurei charged forward. HANAKO caught her and lifted her up. Kurei countered with a series of elbows, but was hit with a counter shoulder tackle. Kurei countered HANAKO's body slam. HANAKO cornered Kurei and attacked her back. She threw Kurei to the other side and charged forward, but Kurei dodged and delivered a swan dive arm whip and a dropkick to the back. Kurei delivered a series of dropkicks. HANAKO delivered a body slam followed by a knee drop. Kurei countered HANAKO's body slam attempt and jumped in with a sleeper hold. HANAKO slammed Kurei into the corner to escape, but Kurei jumped in again and tightened the sleeper hold. HANAKO slammed Kurei onto the mat and charged forward. Kurei dodged and delivered a spear. HANAKO attempted a brainbuster on Kurei. Kurei countered with a series of roll-ups, putting HANAKO in a difficult position. HANAKO kicked out and went for a brainbuster of her own, but Kurei managed to counter that as well. However, HANAKO drove Kurei into the corner with an Argentine backbreaker and delivered a big boot. She then slammed Kurei with a brainbuster, and Kurei couldn't kick out, resulting in a three-count. The final match will be between YumizukiandHANAKO.

From a lock-up, Lady applied a headlock, and when Hinami threw her into the ropes, Lady delivered an arm whip followed by a dropkick. She then attempted to stop Lady's movements with a tomoe nage and an armbar. When Lady broke free, she hoisted Hinami up and delivered a giant swing, a big boot, and a shoulder tackle. After an exchange of elbows, Hinami attempted a harai goshi. Lady countered and applied a cobra twist. Lady did not allow Hinami to escape and delivered a kawazu otoshi. When Hinami countered, Lady went for a chokeslam. Hinami countered with an osoto gari but was hit with a big boot. Hinami slammed Lady onto the mat, but it was only a two count. Hinami went for an armbar and then an armlock. However, Lady escaped. Hinami shouted, "I'm going to finish this!" and hoisted Lady up, but Lady countered with a chokeslam. QQ will field their best team, consisting of Goddesses of Stardom champions Utami and Kamitani, plus AZM. On the other hand, Suzuki, who is looking to make a fresh start after missing out on the red belt, Seira, the current High Speed champion, and Megan, who has shown her strength through her power despite failing to capture the Strong Women's Championship, have teamed up many times before, so they are likely to be a big threat to QQ
The match begins with Megan and AZM as the starting wrestlers. AZM looks up from below and delivers an elbow. Megan stands up to take the blow, and AZM slaps her. Megan gets angry, grabs her neck, pushes her into the ropes, and delivers a chop. AZM tries to grapple, but is cornered. AZM jumps, but Megan catches her and throws her backward. Megan grabs AZM's hair and drags her to her corner, delivering a series of knees. Seira hits AZM with a series of corner dropkicks. Suzuki hits AZM with a corner elbow and a corner big boot. AZM retaliates with a dropkick, but Suzuki dodges it. AZM hits Suzuki with a brainbuster. Kamitani jumps with a swan dive, but Suzuki dodges it. However, Kamitani lands a dropkick, then separates Megan and Seira with dropkicks. Suzuki hits Kamiya with a soccer ball kick, a sliding German suplex, and a dropkick from under the ring. Kamiya counters Suzuki's attempt at a Tequila Shot with a knee kick. However, Suzuki dodges and delivers a knee attack from behind. Megan hits Kamiya with a dropkick, AZM with a lariat, and then a running body attack on both Kamiya and AZM. She then gives them both a backflip. Kamiya dodges Megan's charge and delivers a swan dive body attack. Utami hits Megan with a running elbow. They exchange shoulder tackles and Megan sends Utami flying. Utami jumps in but Megan catches her and gives her a backflip. Utami gets behind Megan but Megan breaks free and charges. Kamiya rolls her up and Utami delivers a dropkick. Utami hits a lariat followed by an elbow, but Megan hits her with a flying lariat. However, Utami gets up and delivers a German suplex. Seira and AZM engage in a rope-work battle. AZM tries to force a submission with a hold. Seira delivers a brainbuster. AZM dodges the charge and QQ combines. However, the triple dropkick is dodged. Megan lifts AZM and throws her out of the ring, and Seira hits the returning AZM with a lariat and a swan dive neckbreaker. But AZM kicks out. Three minutes remaining. Seira climbs to the corner and AZM delivers a superplex arm whip. AZM climbs to the corner and delivers a diving foot stomp, but Suzuki makes the save. After dodging lariats, Seira rolls up AZM. AZM counters and rolls up again. Seira counters again, but Utami gets behind her and AZM throws her into the Azumi Sushi. But Suzuki makes the save. One minute remaining. AZM rolls up but Suzuki makes the save, and after a kick from Megan, Suzuki delivers a German suplex.30seconds remaining. Seira hit AZM with a dropkick, and AZM countered with a modified German suplex, but only got a two-count. AZM then attempted another German suplex, but time ran out. The match ended in a draw due to the time limit, and both teams were eliminated from the tournament.
Suzuki: "Hey, hey, hey, disqualified so early in the new year! Don't mess with me. Who made these rules? Right? I was so annoyed because I couldn't get the red belt at the end of the year, and then I got disqualified today! Hey, hey, hey, Aphrodite. You've got something good there. Mei? Can you listen to my whim for a second? Let's challenge for the Goddess title together one more time . (Seira also agrees) So, Crazy Star will be taking that belt."
Kamiya: "Take out your frustration over the red belt on Goddess, and try to vent it on Goddess... what a nuisance. But that's fine, because there's something about you that's really bothered me. Suzu came into Stardom and stirred things up, and won the 5★STAR GP last year...you stole everything I was supposed to see. I'm going to let out all this pent-up frustration."
Suzuki: "Kamiya, just don't get hurt."

Shimi: "We were eliminated. Or rather, disqualified."
Kamiya: "That's right.A 15-minute draw... I never expected to get a result like this so early in the new year."
Shimi: "More importantly, let's talk about the main event, Suzu, the challenge."
Kamiya: "That's right. I guess they were frustrated because they couldn't get the red belt, and they're taking out that frustration on this Goddess belt? It's a bit... you know. I wonder if they really think they can beat us in a tag team match."

Kamitani: "It's beenthree anda half years now. When you think of tag teams in Stardom, you think of Aphrodite. Personally, we've been going head-to-head ever since Suzu joined. The first round of the tournament pits the STARS team of Mayu Iwatani, Hanan, and Saya Iida against the Oedo Tai team of Natsuko Tora, Momo Watanabe, and Starlight Kid. This will be Iwatani's second comeback match since her return at Ryogoku on December 29th , and she will face Kid again. Hanan and Iida will also be facing Kid again, and will be aiming for another victory for STARS. Iwatani, in particular, has the IWGP Women's Championship match scheduled for the following day, so she will want to win the tournament as a gift to advance to the title match, but it is unlikely that the best members of Oedo Tai will remain silent. This STARS vs. Oedo Tai match has a dangerous aura about it.
Kid and Hanan started the match, exchanging dropkicks. STARS teamed up and attacked Kid, delivering a simultaneous dropkick as a trio. Natsuko entered the ring and hit Hanan with a backflip, a series of sentons, and a camel clutch. Momo then landed a middle kick. Momo delivered a series of middle kicks to Hanan. Momo stood firm and withstood a series of elbows from Hanan. Kid drove Hanan into the ropes and stomped on her face. Hanan slammed Kid with a hip throw and handed her to Iwatani. Iwatani hit Kid with a missile kick, but Momo broke it up. Natsuko and Momo teamed up, but Iwatani arm-whipped them both, and STARS delivered a dropkick. Iwatani hit Kid with a Northern Suplex, but it was only a two count. Kid hit Iwatani with a body attack, a dropkick, and a standing moonsault. They dodged lariats, and Kid delivered a dropkick to Iwatani's knee. Iida caught Momo's middle kick and delivered a series of chops. Momo knocks Iida down with a middle kick, but Hanan intervenes and sandwiches Iida with an elbow. STARS deliver a combined face crusher, and Iida launches a rocket. Momo retaliates and counters with a dropkick to Iida. Iida delivers lariats to the Oedo Tai team one after another. Natsuko and Kid team up, Natsuko delivers a lariat to Iida, and Momo delivers a Soumatou. Momo applies a chicken wing face lock and a B-driver to Iida. Momo foreshadows the finish and prepares for the Tequila. Iwatani cuts in with a thrust kick, and Iida delivers a lariat, Iidabashi. However, Kid makes an early stop. Hanan and Iwatani team up, but Natsuko cuts them off. Momo delivers a high kick to Iida. Momo and Kid slam Iida to the mat, and Momo delivers a Hitodenashi Driver, but Iida cannot escape and Momo gets the three count

God's Eye's team of Shuri, MIRAI, and Sorei Ami will clash with Oedo Tai's Ryuka, Rina, and Fukigen★the firstround of the tournament. God's Eye will enter this tournament with their best members and aim to win the championship. Oedo Tai, on the other hand, is a team mainly composed of young wrestlers, but with the tricky Fukigen on their side, they cannot afford to be complacent. The following day, Shuri will challenge Iwatani Mayu for the IWGP Women's Championship. She will be hoping to win the tournament and gain momentum for her first singles championship in a long time.
Shuri and Fukigen face off first. After a staring contest, Fukigen strikes a pose facing in all directions. Then Shuri attacks from behind, but Fukigen doesn't play along and strikes a smoking pose. When Shuri pretends to extinguish her cigarette, Fukigen gets angry and pokes her in the eye and hits her with a sports newspaper. Rinami hits Shuri with a double knee strike, shouting "What do you mean, a woman of a different caliber!" and puts her in a卍 lock, capturing Sorei who tries to interfere. Shuri hits her from behind with a back cracker and a soccer ball kick. MIRAI dodges Rinami and delivers a shoulder tackle. Rinami hits MIRAI with a hip throw and passes to Ruanka. Ruanka delivers a senton and a shoulder tackle. MIRAI endures and they exchange shoulders. Ruanka wins the exchange, and the Oedo Tai members launch a series of spear attacks, with Ruanka delivering a fisherman suplex. When MIRAI retaliated, she countered Ryuka's neck hanging with an armlock. Ryuka stopped MIRAI's charge and delivered a neck hanging bomb. Ryuka declared her finish and attempted a freezer bomb, but MIRAI dodged it and applied an armlock. Shuri and Sorei separated the Oedo Tai team. MIRAI attempted a lariat on Ryuka, but it was reversed and she landed one. MIRAI and Sorei teamed up to deliver a lariat to Ryuka. Shuri joined in for a trio powerbomb. MIRAI delivered a lariat. The referee counted to three, and MIRAI defeated Ryuka

Only Nanae and Yuu from 7Upp and Anno and Mizumori from Cosmic Angels are competing from their respective units. With unusual pairings such as Hazuki and Kashima, Maika and Shirakawa, and Anno and Mizumori teaming up, it's impossible to predict what kind of match it will be. Of particular interest will be the new World of Stardom Champion Maika and the new Wonder of Stardom Champion Anno. All eyes will be on how these two fight and how they demonstrate teamwork in their debut as the new champions
Shirakawa nominated Nanae, but Hazuki pushed her away and called in Anno. The match started with Hazuki and Anno. They kicked each other in the face, and Anno landed a series of blows. Hazuki was knocked down but countered with a big boot. Nanae's team performed a series of face washes. Only Kashima was reversed by Shirakawa and ended up getting a face wash from Nanae's team alone. Hazuki put Anno in a crossface lock. Anno escaped, but Hazuki hit her with a codebreaker. Anno dodged Hazuki's charge and delivered a neckbreaker followed by a fisherman suplex. Maika hit Hazuki with a running lariat and a shoulder tackle. Hazuki retaliated, and Maika went for a brainbuster. Hazuki countered, and with Kashima's assistance, delivered a codebreaker. Yuu hit Maika with a series of chops. Maika and Yuu exchanged shoulder tackles. Yuu won the exchange, but Maika hit her with a lariat from behind. Nanae attempts a back drop on Maika. Maika resists, and Nanae delivers a series of elbows, while Maika lands a powerslam. Shirakawa offers to tag in Maika. However, Maika refuses and takes a neckbreaker from Nanae, but then lands a lariat. Shirakawa offers again, and Maika responds with "Shut up!" and tags in. Shirakawa lands a series of elbows to Nanae's face. Nanae lands a slap, a lariat, gets mounted and slaps repeatedly, and a ground cobra twist. However, Anno intervenes. Shirakawa and Anno land clotheslines, but Nanae counters with a face crusher, followed by a senton from Hazuki, and then a face lock on Shirakawa. Hazuki also applies a face lock to Anno, joining in the action. Nanae and Hazuki attempt a corner attack on Shirakawa, but it is dodged. With an assist from Maika, Shirakawa lands a dropkick to Nanae's knee and applies a figure-four leglock. Shirakawa hit Nanae with a series of middle kicks and a back drop. Mizumori offered to tag in, saying, "I want to fight Nanae too!" Mizumori entered the ring and delivered a flying shoulder tackle followed by a series of lariats. Nanae endured, and Mizumori followed with a series of elbows, a dropkick, a shoulder throw, and a lariat. However, Yuu successfully made a save. Nanae and Yuu attempted a brainbuster on Mizumori. Mizumori resisted and delivered a series of elbows to both of them. Mizumori charged forward, but Nanae and Yuu slammed her to the mat. Yuu hit Mizumori with a cannonball, and Nanae slammed her forward. Nanae delivered a sliding elbow. At this point, Kashima offered to tag in and covered Mizumori. Kashima got Mizumori in a double armlock position. Maika broke it up and delivered a back drop. Anno hit Kashima with a fisherman suplex, and Mizumori with a diving body press. Nanae's team is cornered, but Nanae lands lariats one after another. Maika also lands lariats one after another, but Kashima counters with a hurricanrana. Mizumori covers Kashima, but Nanae breaks up the pin. Nanae calls Kashima in and takes Mizumori's back. Kashima and Nanae team up to slam Mizumori to the mat, and Hazuki and Yuu deliver sentons. When Yumizuki kicks out, HANAKO goes for a reverse Boston crab. However, Yumizuki escapes to the ropes. HANAKO helps Yumizuki up and throws her into the ropes, but she takes dropkicks to the knee and chest. Yumizuki tries to grab HANAKO's hand and throw her into the ropes. HANAKO throws her in the opposite direction and lifts her up. Yumizuki counters with a dropkick, but HANAKO stops her charge and delivers a side slam, then a reverse Boston crab. When Yumizuki escapes, HANAKO delivers a series of stomps. Yumizuki charged in with an elbow, but HANAKO retaliated, taunting her with "Come on!". Yumizuki landed a series of elbows, and HANAKO responded with a body attack. Yumizuki jumped in for a hurricanrana, grabbed her hand, and delivered a triangle jump face crusher. HANAKO stopped her charge and delivered a body slam. Both were down, but got back up, with Yumizuki delivering a dropkick and HANAKO landing a series of mounted punches. HANAKO cornered Yumizuki and delivered a running body attack from behind. An Argentine backbreaker. Yumizuki went on a series of roll-up attempts. A hip throw followed by another roll-up. HANAKO countered with a big boot. HANAKO yelled "It's over!" and delivered a brainbuster with long hang time. However, Yumizuki's shoulders rose. HANAKO went for an Argentine backbreaker, but Yumizuki countered again with a series of roll-up attempts. The three count was called, and Yumizuki pinned HANAKO, winning the Rookie of the Year title

Shuri drops a dropkick on Giulia and slams her with a Giulia Suplex, but Shuri slaps her. They exchange slaps, Giulia lands an Italian Hook and Shuri lands a series of middle kicks. Giulia lands a back drop. Tekla lands a diving body attack and a series of elbows on Shuri. MIRAI hits Tekla with a lariat, and Shuri joins in with a guillotine from the corner. However, Tekla kicks out. As Shuri gets up again, DDM cuts her off and Tekla lands a Spider German Suplex. Giulia and Sakurai lift Shuri up and Tekla joins in with a Codebreaker from behind. Tekla attempts a submission hold on Shuri, but MIRAI breaks it up. God's Eye team up to try a powerbomb on Tekla. DDM breaks it up and Tekla rolls her up. Shuri kicks out, and Giulia lifts her up and slams her forward. Tekla dives in but is cut off. Tekla sets up a double arm hold on Shuri, but Shuri counters with a Codebreaker. Giulia tries a Glorious on Shuri, but Shuri counters, and Sakurai's missile kick is dodged and hits Giulia instead. Tekla's body attack is also dodged by Shuri and hits Sakurai. MIRAI and Sorei team up with lariats to separate DDM. Shuri knees Tekla. Tekla kicks out, and Shuri spins around after the knee and goes for the Ryuen. Tekla kicks out again, and Shuri goes for the Ryuen again, but DDM makes the cut. Shuri lifts Tekla and tries for the Shusekai. Thekla countered with a spear. When Shuri retaliated, Thekla rolled her up. Shuri managed to escape at the last moment and countered with a high kick. As Thekla got up, Shuri delivered a buzzsaw kick. However, Thekla kicked out just before the three count. Shuri slammed Thekla into the Shuri World. The three count was made, and Shuri pinned Thekla, making God's Eye the new Artist Champion
