| Starlight Kid | HANAKO● | |
This is the homecoming tournament for Mayu Iwatani, the "runaway wrestler" from Mine City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Mayu Iwatani, Tam Nakano, and Starlight Kid will clash with Maika, Mina Shirakawa, and HANAKO of E neXus V in a six-person tag team match. On April 27th in Yokohama, Oedo Tai expelled Starlight Kid, and Nakano came to her rescue. Nakano appealed for a partnership with Kid, and they teamed up in Fukuyama on April 29th and Kochi on April 30th. They lost to Oedo Tai in both tournaments, but at the Fukuyama tournament, Iwatani called out, "Isn't STARS the place Kid should be returning to?" Kid was originally forced to transfer from STARS to Oedo Tai after losing a match. While Iwatani said, "The choice is up to her," she proposed forming a trio at the Yamaguchi tournament. This confirms the team of Iwatani, Nakano, and Kid. This trio will be forming for the first time since they challenged for the Artist of the Year title on September 22, 2020 in Osaka, when they were all in STARS. Their opponents in this tournament are not Oedo Tai, but perhaps that will allow them to have a more composed match. This dream trio will be realized in Iwatani's homecoming tournament, but will Kid make a decision about his future after this?
Iwatani and Shirakawa volunteer to start the match. After the crowd chants "Mayu," the two lock up and test their strength. Shirakawa suggests another round, but deliberately kicks her and strikes a gravure pose. Iwatani also seems to be in the mood to strike a pose. A bewildered Iwatani is caught by the trio and they launch a coordinated attack, delivering dropkicks from three directions. Iwatani delivers a soccer ball kick to Shirakawa. Shirakawa retaliates, and as Iwatani charges, Maika and Shirakawa deliver dropkicks. Maika corners Iwatani and stomps on her face. She then ties her to the ropes and attacks with Shirakawa. HANAKO delivered a series of body slams to Iwatani and then applied a reverse Boston crab. Shirakawa hit Iwatani with a soccer ball kick. Iwatani went for an elbow, and Shirakawa fought back. Iwatani dodged Shirakawa's charge and delivered a dropkick. Nakano entered the ring and hit Shirakawa with a body attack and a knee attack. HANAKO interfered to help Shirakawa, but Nakano dodged it and Kid delivered a neckbreaker to both of them, and Nakano and Kid exchanged dropkicks. Shirakawa hit Nakano with a neckbreaker, but only got a two count.
Shirakawa and Nakano exchanged kicks. Shirakawa delivered a knee crusher and hit Nakano with a rolling elbow as she charged. Shirakawa's Kawazu Otoshi and HANAKO's big boot combined. Nakano dodged Maika's charge and delivered a neckbreaker. Kid charged at Maika in the corner. She was sent to the apron, but slammed her forehead into the corner and delivered a diving body attack. However, Maika caught it and delivered a fallaway slam. Maika prepared to hit Kid with a brainbuster. Kid countered with a stretch muffler. Maika and Shirakawa tried to tag in, but Iwatani arm-whip both of them. Iwatani and Kid hit a 619, and simultaneously performed a standing moonsault. 10 minutes had passed. Kid prepared to hit Maika with a fisherman suplex. Maika resisted and delivered a lariat. Kid elbowed Maika as she charged, and Maika delivered a powerslam. Maika declared she was going for the finish and attempted a Enka Otoshi. Kid countered with a dropkick and a swinging DDT. However, Maika countered with a lariat. Iwatani hit Maika with a missile kick, but only got a two count. Iwatani announced and prepared to hit a dragon suplex. Maika countered, but Iwatani delivered a German suplex. Maika countered, and Nakano gave instructions for them to tag in, but Maika knocked them both down with a lariat. Maika hit Iwatani with a rock bottom. HANAKO hits Iwatani with a shoulder tackle, a running body attack, and a body slam. When Iwatani retaliates, HANAKO goes for an Argentine backbreaker. Iwatani counters, but Maika hits a lariat, and Shirakawa and HANAKO hit a body press. HANAKO helps Iwatani up and prepares for a brainbuster. Iwatani counters, and Nakano and Iwatani perform a thrust kick together. Iwatani and Kid climb to the corner but are cut off. Maika hits Iwatani in the corner with a superplex. HANAKO hits Iwatani with a big boot to the face, but Iwatani lifts her shoulder. EXV hits Iwatani with a "Yamaguchi Tower (Venus Tower)". 15 minutes have passed. Nakano hits Maika with a German suplex, leaving everyone down. Iwatani and HANAKO exchange elbows. HANAKO stops Iwatani's charge and hits a brainbuster. Iwatani retaliates, and HANAKO hits her with a high-angle back drop. However, Nakano made a timely cut. EXV attempted to combine, but Iwatani's team countered with body attacks and dropkicks from three directions, sending them out of the ring. They then performed planchas from three directions. Iwatani hit HANAKO with a Dodonpa. When HANAKO kicked out, Kid dove from the corner onto Iwatani's shoulder, and Iwatani delivered a moonsault press, which HANAKO couldn't kick out of, resulting in a three-count.
Iwatani: "Hello everyone at the Yamaguchi show! We won safely, but I'm a bit damaged, so I'll leave it to you for now."
Iwatani threw the microphone to Kid.
Kid: "I was relieved to see Iwatani Mayu being her usual self. As expected, since we've been working together for so long, we can always do a perfect job together! I want to gradually find the answers to what I want to do and what I should do. Thank you for today."
Nakano: "Hello everyone in the universe and everyone in Yamaguchi! Today I felt like I went back to those days for a little while, but it was so much fun to feel the strength of the three of you next to me. Thank you, Kicchan and Mayu. (To Iwatani) Can you speak now?"
Iwatani: "Thank you. Thank you, thank you. Once again, thank you so much for coming today. All the wrestlers were saying at the back entrance that Yamaguchi Prefecture is a really warm place. I'm really glad I was born in Yamaguchi Prefecture. Thank you, Mom!" And this is Yamaguchi's homecoming tournament, and because it's such a memorable match, I'm glad the three of us could team up. Tam-chan..."
Nakano: "What?"
Iwatani: "Thank you. And Kid, thank you for letting me betray you. Otherwise, we couldn't have teamed up (laughs). But you can always come back (to STARS). I won't say anything about the answer Kid gives me. I'll just be waiting. That's all. Thank you so much for coming today. 'Runaway Wrestler' will also be released on the 17th, so I would be happy if you all could go and see it. We hope you will continue to support STARDOM. Thank you!"
Iwatani, Nakano, and Kid pose together. Kid leaves the ring first and exits alone.
Comments from Mayu Iwatani, Tam Nakano, and Starlight Kid
Iwatani: "Today is Yamaguchi's homecoming event, so it really was a dream match, I guess. It was fun to team up with three people who don't usually get to team up, and it was really fun. It was really fun. We're all working hard on our own paths now, so I think we should just go wherever we want. I hope we can team up again sometime. Thank you for coming today!"
Iwatani leaves.
Kid: "I'm left behind... Well, it made me feel a little nostalgic."
Nakano: "Yeah. It felt like we went back to those days, but I also felt the strength of the three of you now, and I enjoyed it... but what about you, Kicchan?"
Kid: "It would be a lie to say it wasn't fun. Haha. It was fun. I want to find answers about what I should do from experiences like this. But..."
Nakano: "I think you should choose the path where you can shine the brightest. But Tam needs you. Remember that."
Kid: "I'll keep that to myself for now..."
