Saori Anno's comment
"Ah... the 5★STAR GP has begun. We've already achieved some shocking results right from the start. The world is a big place. No coffee and sandwiches for you. You'll have to find out and eat them yourself. I think the real appeal of 5★STAR is that stories begin from here. If you can face each other one-on-one, I believe that when something clicks, you can have a relationship that lasts forever. I experienced that firsthand last year. I'm also looking forward to seeing who I'll click with this time. So, the day after tomorrow (August 12th), it's Shuri against Utsunomiya. It's been four years since our last singles match. I don't have any specific strategy. But I think Shuri has her weaknesses too. She's a woman of a different caliber, after all."

Ah, but hey, how was our first singles match? We still can't fully describe these two years with just this. Today, I might have just won by chance. I was watching Natsupoi very closely, even though I was far away. You've won two great belts. The fact that I won today means that a future like that is possible too. There are so many things I want to do in 5★STAR. That's why I can't quit 5★STAR. Don't you guys take a break, everyone. I'm going to take down every single one of you."

"The 5★STAR GP opening match was the biggest challenge for me. Maika-chan took a three from me. I think that after today's battle, we both felt that the paths we chose, the paths we decided on with determination, were not mistakes, just like Maika-chan said. But we still haven't talked enough. There are so many more things I want to talk about. Let's talk a lot more over the long term. Bye-bye."

Iwatani: "Good evening, everyone in Yokohama! Good evening, Nakano Tam. Today was my first singles match in a while. Up until now, all I've had in singles matches have been draws. But today, in the opening match of 5★STAR, Iwatani Mayu won! Nakano Tam, you still have a long way to go...the wall of IWGP (women's) is still high."
Nakano: "Iwatani, Iwatani Mayu! I will never give up! The only one who can defeat you and take this belt from you is Nakano Tam!"
Iwatani: "I'll be waiting anytime."
Nakano: "You don't have to wait! I'll be right there!"
Nakano is ejected
Iwatani: "Well, well, well, in today's opening match, in the main event, Iwatani Mayu will be in the ring at the very end. Once again, I'll win the 5★STAR GP... and I'll be the champion, and in the final match, I'll be shy until the very end... ah... Next year too! Ah... Iwatani Mayu will be in the ring at the very end of the final match, so please continue to support me until the very end! Thank you very much for today!"
Comment from Mayu Iwatani
"Mayu Iwatani won the main event of the 5★STAR GP opening match. I think they've had four singles matches against Tam Nakano so far, right?" Up until now, all four matches have ended in draws. It's been three and a half years since we left the unit. This singles match hadn't been resolved until now. I was finally able to win it properly at 5★STAR. I think it's no exaggeration to say that this was the most important match in this 5★STAR tournament. I've always lost the opening match of 5★STAR, and I've been so affected by that loss that I haven't been able to make it to the finals, and I've only won once. I've been competing for 11 years and have only won once. Every year, I've felt that I still have a long way to go, but this year I was able to win the first match properly. So I'm going to carry this momentum and win my way to the final match, and make this the best year of my pro wrestling career so far. I think the IWGP (Women's) match is waiting for me beyond that. I'm going to win it and remain an icon of Stardom. It's a shorter period than usual, only one month, but all the wrestlers will run through this summer together for this month, so please support us."
Comment from Tam Nakano
"Ahhh... Ahhh! No matter what I do, I can't beat Mayu Iwatani !! Ugh... (tears). I don't want anyone but Tam to defeat you and take that belt away from me! I will never give up. Not for winning the 5★STAR GP, not for the red belt, and not for Mayu Iwatani either. Natsuko, I'm going to rip off your belt and every single hair from your body. Remember that tomorrow (August 11th in Shibuya)!"
