Suzuki Suzu |
While there was a singles match between Masahiro Chono and Joanie Lawler in the past, this was the first time in the 50-plus years of New Japan Pro-Wrestling history that a man and a woman have faced off in a singles title match. The opportunity arose when Great-O-Khan appeared at Stardom's Edion Arena event and expressed interest in facing a female wrestler. This led to a match between O-Khan and Suzuki Suzu for the KOPW title. The match was held under hardcore rules with no foul play, a format Suzuki is comfortable in, having joined Stardom from the deathmatch and hardcore unit Prominence. While the disparity in skill between the two was clear, if Suzuki won, he would have to cut his queue and beard under special rules. This made the fight even more challenging for Suzuki, who has also competed against male deathmatch fighters...
O-Khan entered the ring with members of United Empire. He faced Suzuki with his arms crossed. Suzuki threw a chair, but O-Khan threw it away. Suzuki tries to hit her with a chair, but Okahn blocks it. Suzuki elbows her in a staring contest, but Okahn clasps his hands behind his back and knocks her down with a single elbow. She puts a stack of plastic forks in her mouth and sprints around ringside, delivering a dropkick. She pulls out a stapler and stabs it into her cheek. Okahn is shocked by what she sees, so she hits him with a stunner. Okahn withstands the brainbuster readiness and exchanges elbows with Suzuki. Suzuki puts a stapler to Okahn's forehead three times. 10 minutes have passed. Okahn can't take it anymore and heads back to the ring. Suzuki hits him with a chair and throws him into the audience. Suzuki wanders around ringside, stabbing him repeatedly in the forehead with a fork. She puts a trash can over his head and hits him with a chair. She takes Okahn out to the runway and prepares for a brainbuster. Okahn counters with a necklock and slams him into the runway with a brainbuster. Okahn returns to the runway with a sleeper hold. They get back in the ring and hit a big boot. Suzuki counters, and Okahn applies a leg lock. 15 minutes have passed. Suzuki counters, and Okahn lifts her up. She shoves Okahn off with a ladder, then climbs onto the ladder and attempts an avalanche brainbuster onto the forkboard. However, Okahn throws her down onto the board. Okahn picks Suzuki up, applies a sleeper hold, and then a backbreaker, then spins around and slams her to the mat, but Suzuki kicks out. 20 minutes have passed. Okahn places a ladder and a trash can, then hits an iron claw. Suzuki tries to go for the Eliminator, but Okahn once again hits the Eliminator on top of the trash can. ※The third champion successfully defended his title for the eighth time
The first IWGP Women's Championship was decided at the first joint event held at Ariake Arena on November 20, 2010. Iwatani lost to KAIRI in the deciding match and missed out on the title. However, on April 23 last year at Yokohama Arena, she defeated Mercedes Monet and finally achieved her dream of reclaiming the title. She has held the belt for the past year and a half. Two years later, Iwatani will be defending her title for the eighth time as champion. Her challenger is Momo Watanabe, who debuted on November 16, 2014, and has a career spanning exactly 10 years. Momo has faced Iwatani many times for the singles belt, but has never won a challenge against her. Momo, who once held the record for the most Wonder of Stardom Championship defenses, will be able to break Iwatani's stronghold as she continues to break the IWGP Women's Championship record. While Iwatani has been an icon with STARS ever since, Momo has fought at the center of the organization, changing her style from babyface to heel, and has recently been competing overseas and in other organizations. A title match between two home-grown Stardom wrestlers is a battle between two figures who represent the organization.
Neither wrestler moved from their corners even as the bell rang. They slowly took steps, feeling each other out. Momo tackled Iwatani to take her back, and Iwatani took to the ground. Momo escaped Iwatani's head scissors and they engaged in a staring contest. Momo didn't engage with the ropework. Iwatani attempted an arm whip followed by a dropkick, but Momo dodged it. Iwatani dodged a kick from Momo and followed with a corbata and a dropkick. When Iwatani aimed for a low dropkick, H.A.T.E.'s second pulled her leg and pulled her out of the ring. Momo also went outside and slammed her into the fence. In the fight outside the ring, Momo landed a middle kick and brought her back into the ring. She covered with one knee. When Iwatani returns, Momo follows up with a soccer ball kick and stomps on her face. She then follows up with a middle kick and stomps on the back of her head. Iwatani charges in with a series of elbows, but Momo takes her down with a middle kick. Iwatani dodges Momo's charge and a drop kick, only to be hit with a drop kick in return. As she steps outside the ring, HATE's second attacks. Iwatani kicks Momo away, but Ryuka interferes. Iwatani dodges Ryuka's box and returns to the ring, performing a high-speed tope suicida. Iwatani puts Momo in the ring with a foot stamp, grabs her middle kick, hits a dragon screw, and a drop kick. When Momo returns, Iwatani hits a series of soccer ball kicks and a back kick. She pins her to the ropes and hits a drop kick to her back. Iwatani covers with one leg. When Momo returns, she counters with a drop kick and a series of skewering drop kicks. She then follows up with a flurry of middle kicks. 10 minutes have passed. Momo hits a series of brainbusters and a high kick from the ropes. She takes Iwatani to the apron and goes for a B-Driver. Iwatani counters, but Momo hits her with a B-Driver on the apron. Momo throws Iwatani back to the apron. Iwatani then hits a Dragon Suplex on the apron. Both wrestlers fall to the outside. They both survive at the 17-count, but are still down in the ring. Momo climbs up the ropes and hits a middle kick. Iwatani blocks a
Tequila Sunrise attempt and hits a high kick, Momo also hits a high kick, and Iwatani counters with a thrust kick. Both wrestlers get up from their down positions, and Iwatani hits a drop kick, missile kick, and frog splash. However, Momo's shoulders are raised. 15 minutes have passed. Iwatani warns and prepares for a Dragon. Momo escapes to the ropes, and Iwatani charges. Momo catches it, but Iwatani prepares for a piledriver. Momo counters and slams her to the mat. Momo hits the Aomato from the corner, but it only gets a two-count. When Momo climbs back up to the corner, Iwatani hits a slap from below, then climbs up to the corner and hits an elbow, which Momo hits back. Iwatani headbutts, hits a slap, an avalanche Frankensteiner, and three consecutive thrust kicks. She lifts Momo up and hits a dragon suplex. When Momo returns, Iwatani hits a moonsault press. However, Momo dodges and charges forward. Iwatani stops her and hits a piledriver and a moonsault press. It seemed like she was done, but H.A.T.E. pulled the referee's foot to prevent the three-count. Iwatani turns around to look at her seconds outside the ring, and Momo hits a high kick. 20 minutes have passed. Momo thinks she's going to hit Iwatani with the bat, but then she throws her down and kicks her. She stands up and hits a barrage of middle kicks. Iwatani charges, and Iwatani hits a thrust kick. When she jumps into the corner aiming for a Fubukirana, Momo kicks her, leaving her suspended in the air, then hits another kick. Momo hits a tequila sunrise and a kick to the face. Iwatani: "Good evening to everyone who came to the Osaka tournament. Watanabe Momo... that was tough... Momo, I heard that yesterday was your 10th anniversary of professional wrestling. Congratulations on your 10th anniversary. And today, thank you for attacking so hard despite the immense pressure. I really felt how strong Momo is. We'll continue to be enemies, but I look forward to working with you."
Momo: "Hey, I'll lose, thank you? What pisses me off the most is when people say thank you for losing or say nice to me, you damn icon! What's with the "congratulations on your 10th anniversary" thing? You know, even with my 10 years, I still can't beat you. Just wait, 10 years, and then another 10 years, no, 50 years, 100 years, I'll definitely surpass you. Just wait, damn it!"
Momo leaves the ring
Iwatani: "I'll always be a high wall, so I'm always waiting. Everyone, the one holding the IWGP (Women's Championship) on this ring today is Iwatani Mayu! (music plays) Wait! If I had won this match, there was something I wanted to say... I was so disappointed that I couldn't compete on January 4th this year. I felt like I was being looked down upon. But today I successfully defended my title for the eighth time. On January 4th next year, I would like to compete for this belt! Everyone, the people at the top of Stardom, the people at the top of New Japan, the audience, Iwatani Mayu this year has raised the value of this belt! She deserves to compete at the Tokyo Dome on January 4th! This..."
AZM comes out
AZM: First of all, congratulations to Iwatani Mayu on defending her title. I remember you said it was January 4th. What do you think of AZM as the challenger?
Iwatani: "Huh, I was thinking of making a reverse nomination, but you came out before I could say so? AZM, sorry to have kept you waiting. I want to fight on January 4th with AZM, not with AZM herself, for this belt. I'm not sure if I'll be able to appear or if the card has been decided yet, but things may change drastically depending on what you all say from now on, so if there are people who want to see this match.... What?"
AZM: "President Okada just said he'll definitely do it! He's given the OK."
Iwatani: "It's too early. OK, if I say it, can I actually go? Hahaha. But on January 4th, champion Iwatani Mayu will face challenger AZM, everyone, I'll be waiting for you at the Tokyo Dome!"

| 〇Maika | Starlight Kid | |
This joint event between New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Stardom will feature a mixed tag match between Zack Sabre Jr. and Maika vs. El Desperado and Starlight Kid, marking the second and first time in Osaka. Zack and Maika share a common thread: they both dominated singles events this year. Zack won the G1 Climax, while Maika won the 5★STAR GP for the first time. Zack also recently reached the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, successfully defending it against Shingo Takagi at the Osaka Edion Arena on November 4th. Maika, teaming up with Zack, became the first wrestler to win the 5★STAR GP with a perfect record. Following their undefeated run in the ongoing Goddess of Stardom Tag League, a perfect singles and tag team victory seems a real possibility. It will be interesting to see how Zack's technique and Maika's power will fare in this mixed tag match. At the same time, the pairing of Desperado and Kid is also drawing attention. Both are masked wrestlers, and this will be Desperado's first match since DDT July 21 at Ryogoku. A major highlight of the match will be how Desperado and Kid's speed will confuse their technique and power.

Maika: "To everyone who came to the venue today, and to everyone watching the PPV, New Japan Pro-Wrestling is amazing, but Stardom is amazing too! Despy-san, you coached me once before my debut, right? It may have only been that one time, but Despy-san's words have helped me grow so much! Thank you for fighting today. And Zack, thank you for today's match. Thank you."
Zack: "Kid, it's so hot. Please come back. I'm glad we were on the same team as you. It's scary, it's scary. You all still don't understand the historic crossover of the last year. But today was fun. It was fun! Next time, let's do Stardom and the New Japan War. Please come again, you know."
Maika: "Thank you. Yes, well, well, it's a crossover, I don't know when the next one will be, but in the end, let's all end it with a happy ending! It was announced today that we at Stardom, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and everyone in the ring would like to make the New Year even more exciting over the New Year period, so please support us! Come, you. Please come. Well, I hope there will be a next one, and thank you everyone for Crossover 2!"
