On July 31st, STARDOM wrestler Tetsu Akira visited his hometown of Kashiwazaki City, Niigata Prefecture, and paid a courtesy call to Mayor Masahiro Sakurai
Tetsu, a native of Kashiwazaki City, spent his first 18 years in his hometown, and while reminiscing about his time training with his grandfather at the Kashiwazaki City General Gymnasium, he spoke about what inspired him to become a professional wrestler and his current activities
When asked by reporters about his fighting style, Tetsu Akira described it as a gritty but intense style that mainly uses elbows and knee strikes. He also shared his thoughts, saying, "The ring is a place where I can express myself. I'm usually the type to bottle up my emotions, but in a match I pour everything out."
She also expressed a strong desire to host a Stardom event in her hometown, saying, "I want to hold a Stardom tournament in Kashiwazaki City someday. The people of Niigata have a strong love for professional wrestling, so I want to put on a match that will live up to their expectations." In the future, she also set her sights on winning the World of Stardom Championship (red belt)
Local media outlets such as the Kashiwazaki Nippo, Niigata Nippo, and Kashiwazaki Community Radio "FM Piccara" also came to cover the visit, demonstrating the high expectations placed on Tetsu
STARDOM representative Taro Okada commented, "We would really like to hold a tournament in Kashiwazaki City. If the schedules align, we would like to aim for around spring of next year. Tetsu Akira is a young wrestler who receives particularly strong support. He still has a lot of room to grow in terms of skill, and we have high expectations for his performance in the 5★STAR GP currently underway."
From his hometown of Kashiwazaki City to becoming "the star of Niigata," and then "the star of STARDOM," expectations are high for Tetsu Akira's further success
