In the first round of the spring festival "Cinderella Tournament 2026" (held on the 7th at the Chunichi Hall in Aichi), Mitsuyoshi Amasaki defeated veteran Rina Yamashita to advance to the second round
Yamashita kept egging on the "Cinderella" chants, giving Tensaki a tough time, and she was pushed to the brink of defeat by a German suplex. However, just over six minutes in, Yamashita was thrown into the corner and went straight to the top rope. Tensaki slammed her down and secured the victory with an over-the-top-rope submission
After the match, Yamashita, holding the microphone, readily admitted defeat, saying, "As you can see, you won today," before continuing, "But I have some unfortunate news to share..."
As the audience watched with bated breath, wondering what she would say next, she announced, "As of today, I will be ending my time as Cinderella." She then added, "I'm sad to see it go, and your support has given me strength. But I would like you to take on the role of Cinderella and pass the name on to Tensaki, carrying on my feelings as well."
"Yamashita Cinderella Rina isn't here, but please continue to support Amasaki Cinderella Mitsuyoshi as she fights in the tournament aiming for the top. Good luck, Cinderella!" she declared unilaterally
Backstage, Amasaki looked confused and said, "No, it's okay... I don't need to be Cinderella..."
