A big step forward towards the goal. In the Future of Stardom Championship match (held on the 11th at Korakuen Hall), champion HANAKO defeated Hime Yuria to successfully defend her title for the fourth time
The title match came about after both wrestlers ended up in a double count-out in the first round of the "Cinderella Tournament" on the 6th (in Nagoya). The champion was ambushed before the bell, but he left the princess writhing in pain with a single body slam. He then calmly absorbed eight consecutive elbows from the challenger, before returning the favor with a heavy blow of his own
After escaping the princess's figure-four neck lock, she also withstood the plancha. Finally, at 12 minutes and 3 seconds, she landed the JP Coaster to secure the victory
After the match, HANAKO said, "I wanted to fight Yuria because of Shirakawa Mina, to see who Venus's successor would be," but added, "But the main reason is that you've always been thinking about this future."
There is no rest for the champion. After the match, Ranna Yagami appeared in the ring. "Your unit is gone, and you've lost your tag team partner, so you must be bored, right? Let me have a title match with that belt on the line," she declared, throwing down the gauntlet
The champion, speaking rapidly and at length on the microphone, belittled Yagami but accepted the challenge, saying, "I want to quickly defend my title and prepare for the 3rd anniversary of my debut on the 25th." The fifth title defense match has been scheduled for March 15th at the Yokohama Budokan
The rules for this title state that the winner must be "within three years of debut or under 20 years old." Can HANAKO successfully defend her title until the deadline, as planned?
