Future Champion Yagami vs. POP Champion Enka's double championship match ends in a thrilling draw. "The next challenger will of course be the Rookie of the Year!" / March 31 Korakuen Hall event report

The double championship match between Future of Stardom Champion Ranna Yagami and Pro Wrestling WAVE's POP Champion Enka took place at Korakuen Hall on March 31st, resulting in a time-limit draw and both wrestlers retaining their titles

The match was a 15-minute, one-fall match, as sanctioned by PURE-J, which manages the POP Championship, and WAVE, to which Enka belongs

Having just successfully defended her title for the first time by defeating Sakura Aya at the Shin-Kiba tournament six days prior, Yagami attacked with her signature kicks. She taunted Enka, saying, "Is that all you've got, POP!", and took an elbow strike head-on

However, there were moments when he found himself in trouble after being hit with a cartwheel elbow followed by a face crusher, and then an STF—all signature moves of the Three Musketeers of Fighting Spirit. Neither side gave an inch, and time simply ticked away

With less than five minutes remaining, Yagami landed a right high kick, but both fighters were down, preventing either from following up. In the end, neither fighter could land a decisive blow, and the match ended in a 15-minute time limit draw

Although she didn't win, Yagami defended her prized belt and said, "I really wanted to have a match against Enka for the Future title, so I defended it with all my might, and I'm happy that I was able to face someone I really wanted to fight. The match isn't over yet, so I'll go after the belt that Enka is wearing again, and when I get the belt, please come and challenge me."

Enka responded, "First of all, thank you for the nomination. It's been two years since we had a match at Korakuen Hall, and we haven't had many opportunities to face each other. I've been inspired by watching your success since your debut. This draw today is the most frustrating result in the world, and although I can't challenge for that belt (due to the rules), if you ever get the belt, I'll take it all." The two then shook hands firmly

Finally, Yagami said, "My next challenger will of course be the Rookie of the Year! I don't know who will come up, but I want to beat whoever it is and raise the bar for this Future belt. Rookie of the Year, I'm waiting for you!" She expressed her eagerness for a V3 match against the winner of the "Rookie of Stardom" tournament (opening April 4th in Osaka) to determine the strongest rookie
