Starlight Kid suffered a humiliating defeat at "Forbidden Door," held at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, on June 28th local time
Representing Stardom in this big match, Kid challenged AEW Women's World Champion Thekla. Thekla was a member of Stardom until last year but was fired for assaulting President Taro Okada and staff, making this a deeply animosity match. Moreover, she had just stormed the Yoyogi show on June 20th and attacked President Okada with clippers. During Kid's entrance, President Okada, dressed in a Stardom jersey, was prominently displayed ringside in the PPV broadcast
During the match, Thekla threw Kid into the ringside fence, provoking President Okada. This ignited an enraged Kid, and he launched a full-scale attack from there. He called out "SLK" from the crowd before performing a standing moonsault, and then unleashed a barrage of attacks on Kid's right leg, before finishing him off with a Black Tiger Divine Punishment on the apron
However, when his opponent escaped the Black Tiger Leg Kill by reaching the ropes, neither the Black Tiger Divine Punishment nor the Moonsault could decide the match. When his go-ahead Star Suplex was blocked, he was hit with a counter Spear and left dazed. At 18 minutes and 45 seconds, he was defeated after being hit with two Curb Stomp
After the match, Tekla's stablemates Sky Blue and Julia Hart also appeared in the ring. Tekla received a pair of scissors, cut Kid's mask strings, and then proceeded to rip off his mask
He then spat on the mask he had stolen and assaulted President Okada. He then calmly left the ring with the belt and mask in hand
Kid posted on her X account, "I lost. But today there's one more thing I can't forgive!! This time I challenged Thekla because she tarnished everyone's Stardom, but I can't let it end like this, neither for that cool, shiny belt nor for Thekla. I'll come see you again, Thekla. And for the mask you stole from me!!" and vowed revenge
In the dark match, Maika defeated Sky Blue with a modified Michinoku Driver II, earning her a spot in the TBS Championship Survival of the Fittest
