Neo Genesis, consisting of Starlight Kid and Seira Mei, faced off against H.A.T.E., consisting of Rina and Inaba Azusa, in a tag team match. For Kid and Rina, this was the first round of a preliminary bout leading up to their Wonder of Stardom Championship match on February 24th in Utsunomiya. All eyes were on what Rina, who would be challenging for the white belt for the first time, would try to do against Kid.
Kid and Rina started with a stare-down. They slowly walked forward and locked up to test their strength. Rina grabbed Kid's mask and threw it, then stomped on her face, shouting, "You damn champion!" Azusa interfered, and after a coordinated attack, Rina sent Kid out of the ring. Outside the ring, Rina threw Kid and Azusa threw Seira, causing them to collide. However, Kid elbowed Rina. Rina retaliated, and they exchanged elbows. Seira and Azusa also fought outside the ring. As Rinami and Azusa throw the ring onto the apron, Kid and Seira dive off. Kid brings Rinami back into the ring, corners her, and delivers a barrage of chops. Kid then hits Rinami with a knee drop, a knee crusher, and a leg lock. Kid kicks her in the face, shouting "You little brat!", and hands her off to Seira. Seira places Rinami's right leg on the ropes and delivers ten consecutive dropkicks. Rinami retaliates with a series of elbows, and Seira taunts her, saying "Bring it on!" Seira holds on, feints, and stomps on her foot. Rinami yells at Seira, "Don't mess with me!", and delivers an STO. Azusa hits Seira with a double kick. Kid tries to interfere, but Azusa hits them both with a double kick in the corner and a face crusher. Seira retaliates, and Azusa delivers a series of knees to her face with both hands, followed by a soccer ball kick. When Seira retaliates, Azusa applies a standing heel hold. Seira counters, but Azusa hits a lariat. Seira dodges, but Azusa applies an Achilles lock. Outside the ring, Rinami holds Kid down to prevent him from interfering. However, Seira reaches the ropes. Azusa delivers a series of double kicks, but only gets a two count. Azusa grabs Seira's neck, but Seira counters and hits a missile kick from the second rope. Kid slips past Azusa and hits a body attack, a dropkick, and a standing moonsault. Azusa counters and hits a back kick followed by a middle kick. Rinami hits Kid a big boot and a dropkick. 10 minutes have passed. Rinami tries to roll up Kid from a Manji-gatame position. Kid kicks out, and anticipating Rinami's hip throw, hits a leg twist. Rinami dodges the charge, but Kid dodges her big boot and hits her with a leg breaker and a dragon screw from the apron. Kid tries to force a submission with a stretch muffler, but Rina manages to escape. Three minutes remaining. Rina and Azusa attack in combination. After Azusa's palm strike, Rina delivers a diving double knee drop. However, Kid lifts her shoulder. As Rina climbs to the corner, Seira blocks her, and Kid delivers a superplex arm whip. Kid grabs Rina's leg and delivers an elbow, and Rian shouts "Don't mess with me!" and throws a hip toss. Two minutes remaining. Kid slams Rina with a fisherman suplex, then a spinning diving body press. However, Rina dodges and shouts "I got you!" and delivers a Hydrangea. However, Seira breaks it up. Rina pulls Kid up and delivers a Northern Lights suplex. One minute remaining. Kid counters, and Rina attempts a reverse brainbuster. Kid counters, and after Seira rolls her up, Kid delivers a 619, Seira delivers a dropkick, and Kid delivers a spinning diving body press. However, Azusa makes a cut. Kid grabs her arm, aiming for a Black Tiger Leg Kill from the Stretch Muffler. But at this point, the bell rings, ending the match in a draw due to time running out.
Rinami: "Ah... Kid, first of all, sorry to keep you waiting for a week."
Kid: "You've kept me waiting too long
." Rinami: "You said it yourself, didn't you? That you can't win that belt with just momentum. I think you're mistaken about something, so let me tell you. I didn't get this far just with momentum. I'm going to take your head in one go in Tochigi (Utsunomiya). I will definitely beat you. Don't underestimate me."
Kid: "Thanks for the energetic comment, Rinami. Yesterday, I put on my uniform and made a notebook to prepare for you, and I've been studying you. There are two more preliminary matches before the title match, so you should study SLK well too."
