The first round match is between Yagami Ranna and Tetsu Akira. A one-on-one battle between two young wrestlers of similar types. Akira is aiming for her first victory, while Yagami is looking to prove herself as a senior wrestler.
The two stare each other down in the corner, feeling each other out, and Yagami takes the top position with a tackle. Akira goes for the neck, and they grapple for the back. Yagami applies a headlock, then an arm whip and a dropkick. She corners Akira and stomps on her face. Akira shouts, "Don't mess with me!" and lands a series of elbows. However, Yagami kicks her in the arm and back, then applies an armbreaker, followed by a series of knee drops to her left arm and a soccer ball kick. Yagami kicks Akira while taunting her, "Is that all you've got?" Akira gets up and lands a series of elbows. Cornered, Akira counters with a dropkick. Akira retaliates against Yagami's elbows. Yagami counters with a dropkick. Akira attempts a Kawazu Drop followed by a face lock to force Yagami to submit. Yagami escapes, and Akira warns him, "I'm going to throw you!" However, Yagami counters with a running high kick, a dropkick, and a PK. Akira kicks back, and Yagami climbs to the corner. Akira kicks him, "Fall!", and Yagami goes to the apron. Yasakura tries to kick him down and lands a series of elbows. Yagami lands a high kick from the apron, and when he returns to the ring, Akira hits him with a suplex. Akira lands a series of mounted elbows and charges forward. Yagami then hits him with a Zero Fighter Kick. Akira kicks back, and Yagami declares he's going for the finish and hits him with a triangle kick from the corner. Akira can't kick out, and Yagami advances to the next round.
"I successfully advanced through the first round of the Cinderella Tournament against Tetsu Akira. As I said at the press conference, Akira is the first junior I've ever met. She was frustrated that it took so long for her to make her debut, so I've seen her train like crazy up close and we've even trained together. She's a junior I have a lot of feelings for.
