Hamabe Matoi and Kanaya Anne, who had been sidelined due to injury, both returned for a singles match. This will be Hamabe's first time in the ring since January 26th at Takadanobaba, and Kanaya's first time since April 6th at Anjo.
The two shook hands as the bell rang. They locked up and grappled, testing their strength. Hamabe pushed forward, but Kanaya tackled her to the ground. Kanaya applied a neck lock and then grabbed Hamabe's arm, but Hamabe fought back. Kanaya applied a leg lock and then a headlock. Hamabe countered and, instead of being thrown to the ropes, applied a headlock of her own. Kanaya threw Hamabe to the ropes and performed an arm whip, but Hamabe retaliated with a dropkick, which was dodged, and Kanaya landed another dropkick. Kanaya cornered Hamabe and delivered a running elbow followed by a dropkick. Kanaya warned and prepared for a body slam. Hamabe resisted, but Kanaya threw her. Hamabe kicked out, and Kanaya went for a reverse Boston crab. As Hamabe endures, Kanaya delivers a series of stomps before pulling him up and throwing him into the ropes. Hamabe dodges and delivers a dropkick. Kanaya retaliates, and Hamabe slams him down with a body slam. Hamabe attempts a somersault drop, but Kanaya counters. Hamabe goes for a reverse Boston crab, but Kanaya reaches the ropes. Kanaya breaks free from Hamabe. Hamabe lands an elbow, and Kanaya retaliates. After an exchange of elbows, Hamabe prepares for a body slam. Kanaya counters and leaps at him, delivering a dropkick from behind. Kanaya applies a bulldog headlock, but Hamabe kicks out. Kanaya lands a series of elbows, and Hamabe dodges the charge and rolls him up repeatedly. Kanaya counters and they exchange roll-ups. Three minutes remaining. Both men charge, and Hamabe's dropkick connects. Hamabe attempts a reverse Boston crab, but Kanaya counters with a dropkick, saying "Don't underestimate me." Kanaya aimed and lunged at Hamabe's shoulder, but Hamabe countered with a shoulder throw. When Kanaya reversed, Hamabe applied a reverse figure-four leglock. With only a short time remaining, Kanaya gave up, giving Hamabe the victory.
Hamabe Matoi's comments:
"I've finally, finally made it back. I decided not to cry, but I couldn't help it. When I saw my opponent crying, I couldn't help but cry. Finally, finally. I was so frustrated. Out of the six of us (who debuted at the same time), I was the first to debut, and then Yuria and Akira debuted, and I had to take time off, and then they all came out one after another and got their first wins, which was really frustrating. I finally got my first win on my own today. Thank you to everyone who came to Korakuen Hall today. Today is just the first step, so I'm going to do what I want to do. I'm going to beat the other wrestlers from my generation too. Be prepared (crying throughout)."
Kanaya Anne's comment
: "Today is my comeback match. I've been out for eight months, and all this time I've been wondering if I'm still okay as a pro wrestler. My contemporaries have debuted, gotten their first wins, and challenged for belts, and I've been left behind, feeling nothing but frustration. And now I'm back. I never imagined I'd be having a singles match against Matoi-chan. We'd said we'd do our best together, and we'd even talked about possibly having a tag team comeback match, so it was complicated at first to have a singles match against such a dear friend. But I thought I could let out all the frustration I've been holding in, and I came into today determined to absolutely crush her. At the autograph signing, I told everyone I would definitely win and asked them to watch me win, but Matoi-chan took the victory from me, and I'm truly sorry. I'm the only one who hasn't won yet. The next time I have a match against Matoi-chan, I will definitely, definitely get the three count from her. And I will also get the three count from my contemporaries who have gone ahead of me, and make up for being behind by being the fastest to move forward."
