ROH Women's World Champion Athena, who made her debut at Ariake on January 3rd and also participated in New Japan's January 5th Tokyo Dome show, will remain in the tournament. She will team with Hanan & Koguma of STARS to face H.A.T.E.'s Saya Kamitani, Momo Watanabe & Thekla in a six-woman tag team match. In the women's four-way match at Tokyo Dome, Momo defeated Athena, but Thekla interfered. Enraged by this act, Athena challenged Thekla to a rematch with her belt on the line. Therefore, this match will also serve as a prelude to the January 13th Korakuen Hall show. It will be interesting to see what kind of fight Athena will put up against Momo and Thekla. Another highlight will be the encounter between Kamitani, who defeated Tam Nakano at Ryogoku on December 29th to become World of Stardom Champion, and ROH Champion and former WWE Superstar Athena.
Athena volunteered to start the match and charged at Thekla before the bell rang. H.A.T.E. attacks, splitting the Stars and leading to a brawl outside the ring. Thekla attacks Athena, but Athena fights back. Thekla retaliates by slamming Athena onto the apron. Thekla brings Athena back into the ring and delivers a running elbow and knees to her face. She then kicks her in the side of the head and covers her with one knee. Momo delivers a soccer ball kick to Athena. Athena immediately retaliates, using the ropes for a jumping elbow. Hanan delivers a dropkick to Momo. Momo dodges a body attack, and Kamitani interferes, delivering a flurry of stomps. Kamitani holds Hanan against the ropes and attacks with H.A.T.E., delivering a heel drop onto the apron. Hanan charges forward, but Momo stands firm and takes a series of elbows. Hanan reads Momo's movements and delivers a body attack. Koguma delivers a dropkick to Momo. Kamiya interferes and tries to team up with Momo. Koguma corners the two and performs a running body attack. She performs a running body attack on all three at once. She calls in Athena, and together with Hanan, the trio applies a camel clutch and forces a bear pose. Only Athena applies a camel clutch to Thekla. Momo escapes the camel clutch by biting and applies a chicken wing face lock. Koguma rolls her up but only for a two count. Momo hits Koguma with a brainbuster and a PK. Kamiya hits Koguma with a running knee attack and a dropkick. Koguma kicks back and suddenly does a bear pose to Kamiya. Hanan tags in and hits Kamiya with a hip toss. Kamiya hits Hanan with a knee kick. Athena stops Kamiya in the corner and Koguma performs a deadly drive, but Hanan rolls her up. Kamiya kicks back and punches Hanan in the stomach, Hanan hits an elbow smash, and Kamiya hits a spin kick. Athena and Thekla exchange kicks. Thekla corners Athena against the ropes and delivers a big boot. Athena dodges and goes for a backbreaker. Thekla dodges again but Athena lands an elbow. As Athena mounts and starts punching, Momo intervenes. Athena delivers a back kick to Momo and sends her out of the ring. Thekla lands an elbow, a big boot, and kicks Momo in the side of the head from the apron. Athena retaliates and Thekla goes for a face lock. Koguma interferes with Thekla's charge and Hanan attempts a hip toss, and Athena gives instructions to carry Hanan and Koguma on her back. They collapse but Koguma jumps on again and the three of them deliver a body press to Thekla. Thekla retaliates and Athena prepares for a brainbuster. Thekla counters and H.A.T.E. deliver a series of corner attacks. Kamitani lands a big boot. Thekla and Momo follow up with buzzsaw kicks. Hanan and Koguma charge forward, but H.A.T.E. holds them back. 15 minutes have passed. Thekla goes for the Poison Spider, but Athena rolls her up. Momo makes a successful break. Thekla delivers a counter elbow to Athena and pulls out the belt. The referee tries to stop her, but Momo hits him with a bat. Athena dodges, and the bat hits Thekla by mistake. Athena delivers a cross-arm backbreaker followed by a sit-down powerbomb. She covers Thekla and pins her. After the match, Athena proudly displays the ROH belt.
Athena: "You want this (ROH Women's World Championship)? You want this? You want this? This is something I cherish. If you want this, you'll have to get past me. You've made me angry! I'm going to make you feel bad at Korakuen Hall. You'll never dare to talk back to me again."
Thekla: "You're a little too noisy. Athena, you're lucky. You're lucky. I told you, you've entered my territory. This is Japan. I'm the queen here. You'll learn your lesson at Korakuen Hall. The ROH belt belongs to me."
