Saya Iida and Ami Sorei face off in a one-on-one match for the right to challenge Konami for the Wonder of Stardom Championship. Sorei has a perfect record against Iida in past singles matches, but whoever wins this match will advance to Ryogoku on December 29th to challenge Konami for the Wonder of Stardom Championship. If Sorei wins, it will be her third challenge, and if Iida wins, it will be her first... Konami ordered this match because she had directly pinned Sorei in a six-person tag match in Takasaki on November 8th, and Iida in a six-person tag three-way match in Matsumoto on November 9th. Who will win the right to challenge Konami, Iida or Sorei?
Iida sends Sorei to the apron with a series of chops. She attempts a throw, but Sorei resists and they exchange chops on the apron. Sorei lands a double chop, and Sorei lands a brainbuster on the apron. Iida hits her back and falls to the outside. They exchange chops and shoulder tackles outside the ring. They grab each other's hair before returning to the ring and continuing the shoulder tackle exchange. Sorei wins the exchange and lifts Iida into an Argentine backbreaker. He applies a submission hold and puts Iida on the corner, delivering a running body attack and a lariat. Iida kicks out and Sorei goes for a brainbuster. Iida counters with a shoulder tackle, elbow drop, and dragon sleeper. Iida goes for a running lariat followed by a "Tashi dake na!" (Get well soon!) attempt. Sorei endures but Iida hits a deadly drive. As Iida climbs to the corner, Sorei stops him and delivers a pre-announced avalanche brainbuster. After an exchange of chops, Sorei delivers a flurry of blows. Iida hits a jumping chop, then, after announcing it, an Iida Rocket, Final Cut, and a dragon sleeper. He transitions into a body lock and tightens the hold, and Sorei tries to escape. Iida returns him to the center and maintains control. 15 minutes have passed. Sorei successfully escapes. Sorei resists Iida's attempt at a brainbuster, then stops Iida's charge with a side slam. Sorei pulls Iida up and attempts a Blue Thunder. Iida counters, but Sorei lands the Blue Thunder. Sorei assumes a lightning strike stance. Iida resists, and they exchange brainbusters. Sorei lands the first one. Sorei aims for a lariat, but Iida's shoulder rises. Iida counters Sorei's attempt at a lightning strike with an Iida Bridge. Sorei counters, and both men charge. Sorei's lariat connects. However, Iida attempts a brainbuster. Sorei counters, and Iida runs between the ropes. Sorei runs as well, but Iida lands a lariat, and another lariat. 20 minutes have passed. Sorei counters, and Iida lands a vertical drop brainbuster. The referee counts to three, and Iida defeats Sorei.
Iida: "I won! I beat Sourei Ami. I've earned the right to challenge her! But, this is the first time I've ever beaten Sourei Ami. This is the first time I've ever gotten a win against you. I had to fight such a fierce battle to beat you. You're just too strong!" Sourei:
"Iida... You're incredibly strong too! When I first came to Stardom, I never thought I'd be able to have a singles match with Iida in the main event in a packed Korakuen Hall like this!" "I'm incredibly frustrated that I lost today, but I believe Iida will definitely wear the white belt at Ryogoku. As soon as Iida puts the white belt around her waist, I'll be there, and I'll be watching closely."
Iida: "When I wear the white belt, I'll accept any challenge from you, and I'll win any number of times. I'll beat you more than I lose. Look forward to it. I promise. Konami appears with the white belt and spray paint.
Iida: "On December 29th, I'm the one who's going to beat you at Ryogoku!"
Konami attacks with spray, but Iida dodges and delivers a lariat.
Iida: "Don't think I'll fall for that trick so many times!"
Konami: "Hahaha. That's how the game should be. Hey, Iida. Today's match with Sorei was really fun. So all you've finally figured out is how to avoid the spray? I'll put this white belt on the line and play with you at Ryogoku at the end of the year. A new game is about to begin. Iida, the end."
Konami hits Iida with the belt. Konami leaves the ring.
Iida: "Next time, I'll make sure to have a solid plan in place to avoid losing the belt. Anyway, I won today, so I'll be the one to wrap things up. I will absolutely, absolutely illuminate this Stardom ring. I will dispel the darkness. I will take the first step towards the bright Stardom that Hanan and I sought with STARS. I will conclude today's event with a special award. I won't prepare. Here I go. Believe in me, shine in the future, and take care!"
Iida's comment
: "I finally won. My first victory against Sorei Ami. I'm really going to keep my promise to Sorei Ami, and I've also made a promise to Kyoko. I haven't made a promise to Hanan yet, but I'm sure she feels the same way. There are so many things I want to do once I take the belt from Konami. I'm going to bring back that white belt that's been stained black. I'm going to drag it out and become the new white belt champion, the wrestler who symbolizes it. I'm going to defeat Ryogoku, Konami, the final boss. I'm going to dodge your rough tactics and win with this power. With these muscles."
Sorei's comment
