Future of Stardom Champion Ranna Yagami gained momentum heading into her 10th title defense against Akira Tetsu. In a tag team match, she teamed with Hanan to face Ami Sorei and Akira Tetsu. This match served as a double preview for the Wonder of Stardom Championship match between champion Hanan and Sorei, and the Future of Stardom Championship match between Yagami and Tetsu, both of which will take place at the Yokohama Budokan on September 12th
Facing off against Tetsu, Yagami endured a barrage of elbows, but countered with powerful middle kicks and soccer ball kicks. There was a moment when he was rocked by Tetsu's desperate knee lift, but he knocked him down with two consecutive high kicks. Finally, he landed a Beat Strike to secure the three-count victory
Grabbing the microphone, Yagami declared to his challenger, "How have you grown in the world's best ring this summer? I've spread my influence more widely around the world. Then Tetsu shouted in his normal voice, "I'm the one who's going to take Yagami Ranna away! Be prepared!"
Inspired by this, Sorei also called out to Hanan, "Let's have the best match we've ever had, different from the one we had in the Future era."
The White Champion, who had lost the Future Championship in October 2022, responded, "There won't be a second time. I won't let Ami Sorei take my singles belt a second time. [Hana's comments]Today was the first and last preliminary match against Sorei Ami, but ever since Sorei Ami took the Future belt from me, I've always fought her with the feeling that it was just a preliminary match, so I think once is more than enough. [Ami Sorei's comments]This was the first and last preliminary match for the white belt, and the result may not have been very good, but I have the momentum from the 5★STAR GP on my side.
