Future of Stardom Champion Ranna Yagami has achieved a narrow 11th title defense. She defended her title by drawing with challenger Azusa Inaba in a 15-minute time limit draw
The match started quietly, but it was HATE's intervention that changed the course of the fight. When Yagami's second, Ryuka, stifled him, Azusa went on a rampage outside the ring like a fish in water, and with that momentum, she attacked the champion relentlessly
Yagami fought back with her signature kicks. Against Azusa's attacks, which included ankle holds and big boots, Yagami countered with an armbar. She then targeted the challenger's left arm and delivered a series of merciless kicks
Neither fighter gave an inch with their kicks, and the match became a fierce battle with both competitors being counted down. However, in the final stages, it was Azusa who cornered the champion. She attacked with a kneebar and a suplex, and then delivered the "Inaba Azusa's Big Sister Overcoming" move
Yagami managed to kick out at the count of one, but the challenger's relentless attack continued even with less than a minute remaining. Just as he was hit with another Anekoshi, the bell rang, signaling the end of time. The champion retained his belt, but was unable to secure a victory
"I'm proud that there are such exciting and strong members of the Reiwa 5 generation like Azusa, and I'm disappointed that the match didn't end in a clear winner, so let's fight again no matter what belt we win."
Yagami extended his left hand. However, Azusa kicked him and refused to shake his hand. He then left the ring
Yagami showed her frustration, but her goal remains unchanged. She is just one title away from breaking Rinami's record of 12 consecutive title defenses. "I will definitely surpass it and fulfill Yagami's ambition," she declared, showing her determination to break the record
Then, Tetsu Akira, who would become her partner in the "Goddess of Stardom Tag League," appeared
"Goddess, you want to team up with me? Fine, I'll team up with you. But I have absolutely no intention of becoming friends with you."
Tetsu, who challenged Yagami for the championship at the Yokohama Budokan on September 12th but was defeated, still has his eyes fixed on the Future belt
"There's only one reason I'm teaming up with you: for this future. Don't forget what I'm aiming for."
Just as the reigning champion was about to break the record, his partner declared war. The battle for Yagami's belt is only going to heat up
Ranna Yagami: "Azusa Inaba. She's only 18, but she's already running her own shows, appearing in various promotions, and carrying the weight of her own promotion on her shoulders. She's truly amazing, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have such an inspiring contemporary. At the same time, it made me realize even more that I can't afford to lose to her."
This belt is fine, and no matter what belt Azusa has, or what belt I have, I definitely want to do this again
I'm just one title defense away from breaking the record for most title defenses, so I definitely want to surpass that record!
Azusa Inaba: "I didn't lose, but it was a time-out draw, which is the most boring kind of result. If there had been another 10 seconds, I'm sure I could have won, and I'm not happy with this result."
So, I don't want to take on a pointless challenge, but I will take on the next challenge, and I will definitely become the first non-affiliated wrestler to wear the Stardom Future belt, and then I will take that belt to HATE. Next time, I will definitely defeat Ranna Yagami
