The 16th Goddesses of Stardom Tag League Tournament has begun, with the defending champions suffering an immediate defeat. Sakura Aya and Kurei Sayaka, known as "Sakurara," were defeated by Anno Saori and Fuwa-chan, known as "Super Senyu Z," in a Red Goddess official match, marking a turbulent start to the tournament
Sakura and her teammates focused their attention on Fuwa-chan. Sakura landed a powerful elbow strike, trying to take control of the match. However, Fuwa-chan countered with a Manji-gatame (figure-four hold) and retaliated with a dropkick. Then Anno attacked Sakura and her teammates together, shifting the momentum in their favor
Kurei fought back with a diving knee drop and a running elbow. In an attempt to break down Anno's stronghold, the two unleashed a series of coordinated attacks including a spear and an elbow drop, but Anno refused to give in. She caught them in an Anno Ring and a cross-arm camel clutch, putting the champions in a difficult position
Just over 10 minutes in, Anno unleashed a devastating neckbreaker. Cornered, Sakura and her teammates managed to cause Fuwa-chan's missile kick to miss its target, then launched a combined attack on Anno and went for the win with their Tokimeki Spear
But in the end, it was Super Comrade Z who seized the opportunity to win. After Fuwa-chan's flash magic, Anno finished off Kurei with a special pottering for the three count. They defeated Sakura and others who were aiming for a consecutive victory, and started the tournament with a win
Saori Anno: "I'm grateful that I got to face the previous winner in the opening match. But we're still not 'Super Comrade Z' at all. We're not in sync yet."
Fuwa-chan: "I'm sorry, I kicked you in the face!"
Saori Anno: "Next up is Numazu on the 3rd, against Yunamon. I'm not sure if she's going to withdraw from the match or not, so I'm going to go and check it out. We'll have a debriefing session on the way back today, so wait for me."
Fuwa-chan : "In Dragon Ball, you get stronger through battles, or your power level increases with each episode, but I have absolutely no intention of doing that this time. I'm going to be in top gear, top speed from the start, and I can take down any Frieza in one hit!"
Sayaka Kurei:"As someone who was aiming for an undefeated championship, this is quite a blow, but I will redouble my efforts and tighten my resolve from here on out."
Sakura Aya: "This year, as the winning team from last year, we've completely revamped everything from our costumes and entrance music to our signature poses. I think our bond has grown stronger as we worked on it together, so I'm sure Sakura and I will be fine."
