The highly anticipated crossover tag team stumbled right from the start. Starlight Kid and Maki Ito's "Trouble Friends" were defeated by Mei Seira and Emma Nashijima's "M&E SPIRIX" in their first Red Goddess official match. Although they showed good teamwork at various points, a costly misfire at the end cost them the victory
In the early stages, Kid and Seira, both members of NEO GENESIS, engaged in a speedy exchange of attacks. When Ito tagged in, she delivered the world's cutest knuckle punch to Mashima, and Kid followed up with a standing moonsault. With their fluid teamwork, Trouble Friends seized control of the match
Riding on his momentum, Ito cornered Seira with a rope-assisted stunner followed by an Ito Deluxe. However, he was thwarted by a interference from Mashima and couldn't finish her off. Instead, he was hit with a double low dropkick, allowing Seira to counterattack
Nevertheless, after a ground dragon screw executed in coordination with Kid, Ito caught Seira in the Ito Special. Kid also applied a stretch muffler to Mashima, and the competition of submission holds thrilled the crowd
However, their coordination faltered at a crucial moment. Kid had Seira in a tiger suplex position, and Ito attempted a stunner, but it missed. Not giving up, he tried again, but this time it hit Kid by mistake
The opponent didn't miss this opportunity. Ito was hit with a Sling Blade by Namishima and then pinned for the three count by Seira's Shooting Star. Trouble Friends started the season with a loss, highlighting the need for better teamwork
Seira Mei: "We won our first match against Trouble Friends!"
Ema Nashijima : "Even though I'm the leader, there's no way we're going to lose to such a hastily formed tag team. We got off to a good start."
Seira Mei:"We still have plenty of combination moves we can use, so we'll be fine! Also, I want everyone to know what SPIRIX in M&E SPIRIX means."
Ema Nashijima:"Spirit means a strong, unyielding spirit. SPIRIX is a combination of speed and spirit."
Starlight Kid:"It's like we lost because of Ito-chan. She was hitting the wrong person! We were having trouble, just like our tag team name suggests!"
Maki Ito:"That's fine, we're Trouble Friends after all!"
Starlight Kid:"No way! We have to avoid trouble from now on! Trouble Friends, let's do our best from now on."
